Brace Yourself Michael B. Jordan Fans: For Double Your Pleasure, In The Up And Coming Movie: “Sinners”
The movie “Sinners” premiers Friday, April 18, 2025 and is directed by two time nominated Academy Award, Golden Globe and Grammy Award winning Director, Ryan Coogler. Ryan Coogler is the same African-American director of “Black Panther” and “Creed”, starring Michael B. Jordan. Only this time, Michael B. Jordan fans not only get to see him once, but twice, as he plays twin brothers, Smoke and Stack.
While you are however drooling over Michael B. Jordan in double vision, you will be drooling in fear…
“Sinners” is reminiscent of “The Color Purple”, Harpo’s Juke Joint specifically, with poetic nuances to the likes of Zora Neale Hurston, wrapped up in historical southern charm, music that echoes inside your soul, a little fire and desire, drama and comedy, and did I forget to mention -vampires?
Guns, fire, and blood are not the only themes showcased within this movie, but a deeper exploration of rhythm and blues, African American folk magic and the history of the time period, being Jim Crow era, 1930s. The cast and crew include: Delroy Lindo, Jayme Lawson, Hailee Steinfeld, Wunmi Mosaku, Jack O’Connell and Omar Miller.
It is quite obvious, director Ryan Coogler, having worked with Michael B. Jordan in several of his films now, must be a fan and vice versa. With the “Creed” trilogy movies grossing $174.2 (Part I), $214.2 million (Part II) and $276.1 million (Part III) worldwide, and “Black Panther” grossing $1.34 billion worldwide & “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” grossing $853.9 million worldwide, what is the expectation of “Sinners”?
